Q. How long does this process last ?
A. 6 months to a year is not unusual and we do recommend that one now cares for your newly whitened teeth with our Keep Bright Pen. Typically, we recommend pursuing another treatment in about 6 months but it can be done safely every 3 months. Longevity of results is dietary dependant. That is, a smoker or regular coffee drinker will accumulate stain quicker than someone who does not smoke or drink coffee.

Q. Is this type of whitening safe ?
A. Yes, we use an over the counter concentration of whitening gel combined with the LED light to activate the whitening process. There are contraindications if you are pregnant, photosensitive or if you have crowns or fillings; they will not lighten. We always suggest any dental related questions be related to your dentist as he/she knows your history. This is an esthetic treatment and can be provided to most people.

Q. Who may benefit from Pure Smile System ?
A. Almost everyone can enjoy the benefit of the whitening process if their teeth and gums are healthy. Remember, teeth cannot become whiter then genetically possible. Tetracycline stains may not be removed. And Stains resulting from And Stains resulting from excessive fluorides or porous teeth can expect little result.

Q. I have a crown on my anterior or front teeth. Will your product whiten my crown ?
A. No, but the standard procedure is to first whiten all adjacent teeth, wait two weeks for the color to stabilize, then go to your dentist and have him match the new shade of your teeth. On the contrary, if a crown is already been in place the rest of the teeth to the original shade prior to the crown placement. The same goes for composites, bridges, and veneers.

Q. How does this process work ?
A. All Teeth Whitening gels are made up of the same basic ingredient: Carbamide Peroxide (some Hydrogen Peroxide) The differences in gels whether it is sold at the drugstore, the Pure Smile System or from the dentist is the CONCENTRATION. Our concentration is considered by the FDA to be over the counter, but it is higher than most over the counter gels. It is lower in concentration than the dental office………that is why we experience minimal or next NO sensitivity with our system! We do not require you to use a whitening product for 7-21 days ….which can cause sensitivity. We do not require the use of a very strong and often irritating to the gum gel for 45 minutes -1 hour. We only require 20-30 minutes of time, using a prefilled gel tray. Our results are magnificent and instant!

Q. What does the LED light do ?
A. That is secret to the success of this treatment. How does such gentle whitening gel work so quickly? The LED is specific in its wavelength. This wavelength is compatible to activating the oxygen release in the peroxide gel. Once the oxygen is released it will cling to the staining and gently lift it away. Our medical grade light enables us to always get a result effectively and efficiently.
